What is Included
Our online courses are built around the renowned AVE (Aula Virtual de Español), developed by the
Instituto Cervantes.
Each Mi Mundo Spanish online course includes:

Your Commitment |
We recommend that you allow for 3-4 hours of personal study each week. A recommended study timetable is
issued for each course.

What it Costs |
Our courses start from £140, which includes the licence for use of the AVE e-learning software
and the activities outlined above. This equates to little more than £11 per week: less than the cost of
many classroom-based courses.
Additional options, such as extra conversation practice, are available at extra cost.
Course Structure
Our full course structure is divided into 4 grades, and each grade is split into 4 courses, each lasting an academic
term of 12 - 13 weeks. These correspond to the equivalent levels and courses within the AVE. Thus we have:
- Beginners 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
- Intermediates 1 -2 - 3 - 4
- Advanced 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
- Proficiency 1 -2 -3 - 4

Find out your Spanish Level |
If you already know some Spanish and want to find out your current level in order to work out which course is best for you, you can undertake a free placement test, as developed by the Instituto Cervantes.
The test is in three parts, dealing with Vocabulary and Structure, Reading Comprehension and Listening Comprehension.
It lasts up to 20 minutes and at the end will assess your level: basic, intermediate, advanced or proficiency.

Technical Requirements |
In order to use our online Spanish courses you will need:
- Access to a computer with these
minimum/recommended specifications
- A Broadband connection.
- A headset with boom microphone is recommended for the webinars and for the conversation practices.
- A Skype account for interacting with your conversation
buddy. Skype-to-Skype/video calls are free.
- A free account on Voki for conversation practice.
- We recommend the use of a webcam for more effective interaction on webinars and Skype calls.
- Software for AVE and web-conferencing take the form of web-based applications. No software installation is required on your own machine.
How It Works
When you book an online course you will be provided with all the information you need to get you up and
running. This will include full instructions on how to access all of the facilities. For example, webinars are
conducted via our web conferencing facility, provided by DimDim.
We recognise that many first-time students with us will be unfamiliar with web-conferencing and other facilities used
on our courses. We therefore provide a FREE 30-minute webinar during your first week, to introduce you to our methods
and practice with the technology.
